Guest Students

Well-prepared guest school stays enrich everyday school life — both for the guest students and for the students of the Ammersee-Gymnasium. The Ammersee-Gymnasium is therefore generally happy to promote cultural exchange through guest students.

Using this online form is voluntary

You may just as well submit the application on paper at the school office or register there in person — this causes no disadvantage whatsoever for the processing of your application.

Principles for the Guest School Stay

To make the stay rewarding for everyone, a few principles need to be observed:

1. Applications must be submitted to the school management at least 2 weeks before the guest period begins. This lead time is needed to determine which grade and class the guest student can best attend, to consult class and subject teachers where necessary, and to prepare timetables. Only then can we make sure that a guest student is a "welcome addition" to the class and feels comfortable.
2. The guest stay should last at least a few weeks. This time span is necessary to take in and process the many cultural and linguistic impressions — and it gives the school time to integrate guest students into foreign-language lessons (English, French, Spanish), for example as native speakers.
3. The application is made via the form below and includes the declaration of the parents/legal guardians that they consent to the stay, the contact details of the host parents (for quick contact in case of emergency) and, for guest students from abroad, proof of health and liability insurance.
4. On the first day, the guest student introduces himself or herself personally to the school management.

Please understand that short-notice requests (or bringing guests to class without prior arrangement) cannot be approved.
